THE BIRTH OF PRAISE

THE BIRTH OF PRAISE
Genesis 29:31-35. And when the LORD saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren. 32And Leah conceived, and bare a son and she called his name Reuben: for she said, surely the LORD hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me. 33And she conceived again, and bares a son; and said, because the LORD hath heard that I was hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon. 34 And she conceived again, and bares a son; and said; Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi. 35And she conceived again, and bares a son: and she said, now will I praise the LORD: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing.

I.                   The story of Leah

A.                Her beauty

1.                 Leah knew that she did not look as good as her little sister Rachel

a)                Whether it was in her face or her figure

b)                She understood that Rachel was more attractive than her

(1)             The Bible even declares that Rachel was beautiful

c)                 She suffered with feelings of inadequacy

2.                 This was reinforced in Leah on the day of her wedding

a)                She was only able to be married to Jacob due to deception

b)                Her Father, Laban was basically saying, “You’ll never be able to get married on your own

c)                 Jacob never chose Leah, she was never special to him

B.                 Her Marriage

1.                 After she was married to Jacob, he worked another seven years to be able to marry Rachel.

a)                He was never content with her.

b)                She could never please or satisfy her husband

2.                 She was hated – disfavored

a)                Jacob was indifferent to her

b)                He did not care for her at all

c)                 Jacob never failed to express his love for Rachel

C.                 The Lord Saw Leah

1.                 Leah had a secret pain

a)                She couldn’t find comfort with her husband

b)                She couldn’t find comfort with her sister

(1)             She really didn’t have anyone that she could talk to about it

2.                 But God saw her pain

a)                God saw the secret hurt in her heart

b)                When no one else knows, God knows

II.                 Leah’s Sons

A.                Biblical names

1.                 Biblical names mean something

2.                 People were named for the circumstances that surrounded their birth.

3.                 Leah named the children, Jacob

B.                 Reuben

1.                 Reuben means – seeing or sight

a)                This is on two levels

(1)             First God has seen me and blessed me
(2)             Second, now my husband will see me and love me

b)                But nothing changed

C.                 Simeon

1.                 Simeon means hearing or heard

a)                Again this is on two levels

(1)             First God has heard me and blessed me
(2)             Second, now my husband will listen to me and acknowledge me

b)                But again nothing changed

D.                Levi

1.                 Levi means to be joined or together

a)                This is only on one level

(1)             Unlike the other two, God is not even mentioned at the birth of Levi.
(2)             I want to be joined to my husband
(3)             I want us to be a family

b)                But nothing changed

E.                 Judah

1.                 Judah means praise

a)                After trying to get Jacob’s attention for all these years

b)                Leah made a decision that this next boy isn’t going to be about Jacob at all.

c)                 I’m going to name him Judah, and I’m going to praise the Lord

III.              The Lineage of Praise

A.                The Tribe of Judah

1.                 Judah’s descendents became a great tribe in the nation of Israel

a)                Over 1 million people by the time of the Exodus from Egypt

2.                 Praise makes the church grow.

a)                When you start praising God, it just has a tendency to grow and become bigger

b)                Because as you lift up Jesus, he draws all men unto him

B.                 Judah at the Door

1.                 After the Exodus and during the time of wandering in the desert

2.                 Israel created the Tabernacle in the Wilderness

3.                 Every time that they stopped to make camp, the first thing that went up was the Tabernacle.

4.                 The tribe that set up their tents right at the door of the Tabernacle was always Judah

a)                You couldn’t get to the door without going by praise

b)                All the other tribes were looking at the walls, but Judah was looking at the door.

5.                 You can’t find your way out of your situation?

a)                It’s time to praise the Lord

b)                Your praise might show someone else the door to the presence of God

C.                 David

1.                 Was the greatest earthly king that Israel ever had.

2.                 He was anointed and chosen by God to be the king of Israel

3.                 David was a descendent from the Tribe of Judah

a)                After countless defeats – Israel’s greatest victories came under the rule of David

b)                You can’t get the victory over your enemy?

c)                 It’s time to praise the Lord

d)                Your praise can bring you the victory

(1)             Walls of Jericho came down
(2)             Sis. O’Donell
(3)             Paul & Silas released from Prison
(4)             From Jerry Jones, death-row inmate – baptized and the chains fell off
(5)             Both guards got baptized as well

D.                Jesus Christ

1.                 Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary

a)                Joseph was the descendant of David – he was from the Tribe of Judah

b)                Jesus was born in Bethlehem – which is called the city of David

c)                 Your praise can bring you salvation

(1)             You receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit when you start praising God

IV.              Let’s praise the Lord

A.                Those who can praise God

Psalm 115:17 The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence.

1.                 The only ones that cannot praise the Lord are those that are dead.

a)                If you’ve got life you can praise the Lord

B.                 From the Heart

1.                 I praise God in my heart, God knows that I praise Him from within

Matthew 12:34 …for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

a)                Praise in your heart comes out of your mouth

b)                Praise in your heart comes out in your hands

c)                 Praise in your heart comes out in your feet

d)                Praise in your heart comes out in your life

C.                 How can we praise the Lord?

Psalm 150:1-6
Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

WHO IS JESUS CHRIST?

Who is Jesus Christ? Knowing somebody is to know: His/her Name, his/her Parents, his/her personality, where he/she lives... The Bible is to teach us who is Jesus Christ John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. Micah 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. Matthew 3:16-17 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, look, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Revelation1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. 1Timothy 6:15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. Matthew 16:13-19 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 16:14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. John 1:1 Creator 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God. 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 1: And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. Colossians 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: This Jesus that we are talking about he is All in All

THE SEVEN BRAIDS OF THE SAMSON S HAIRS AN EXAMPLE OF SEVEN CORDS WHICH UNIFIES CHRISTIANS

THE STHE SEVEN BRAIDS OF THE SAMSON S HAIRS AN EXAMPLE OF SEVEN CORDS WHICH UNIFIES CHRISTIANS Juges16:19 “
Having put him to slip on her lap, he a man to shave off the seven raids of his hair, and so began to subdue him, and his strength left him.”
The seven braids of the hairs of this man of God, were all unified together which was the secret of his strength, when shaved off, Samson became weak. This shows us Christians that the unity is very important for us to make great things, that I am not able to do my self but together with others in unity for Christ we have a good achievement.we have a good achievement.
Samson was a chosen one by God, was living at the border of the country of Israel and the county of philistines, since his birth the razor didn’t pass on his head. he was made as judge of the Israelite Nation representing Gods deference to this Nation,… His seven braid of his hair are like the seven pillars of the Christians faith in Christ. THE SEVEN CORDS WHICH UNIFIES CHRISTIANS WE ARE ONE BODY Ephesians 4:4-6”
For us now we asked to repesent the citisenship of ou country which the Heaven. Ephesians 4:13-14and16 The objective of the Lord is that we should be unified in faith by the knowledge of the son of God, that we should grow up in the mesure of the level of Christ. We are all requied to be united
WE HAVE ONE SPIRIT 1corinthians 12:11
“But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
ONE HOPE Romans5:2
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
ONE LORD Ephesians 2:15-19
"Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 2:17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;"
ONE FAITH Ephesians 3:12/John10:9
3:12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
ONE BAPTISM 1Corrintians 6:11/John 3:5-7
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
ONE FATHER 1Corrintians 8:6-7/Deuteronomy 4:39-40
7But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. 8Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.

DESTINY and PREDESTINATION

You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

DESTINY and PREDESTINATION (Psalms 33:8-22 NKJV) Let all the earth fear the LORD; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. {9} For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. {10} The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. {11} The counsel of the LORD stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations. {12} Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance. {13} The LORD looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men. {14} From the place of His dwelling He looks On all the inhabitants of the earth; {15} He fashions their hearts individually; He considers all their works. {16} No king is saved by the multitude of an army; A mighty man is not delivered by great strength. {17} A horse is a vain hope for safety; Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength. {18} Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy, {19} To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine. {20} Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. {21} For our heart shall rejoice in Him, Because we have trusted in His holy name. {22} Let Your mercy, O LORD, be upon us, Just as we hope in You. (Psalms 37:23-24 NKJV) The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. {24} Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand. (Psalms 65:4 NKJV) Blessed is the man You choose, And cause to approach You, That he may dwell in Your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Of Your holy temple. (Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV) "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations." (Matthew 11:25-26 NKJV) At that time Jesus answered and said, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. {26} "Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. (Matthew 25:34 NKJV) "Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: (Luke 8:10 NKJV) And He said, "To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that 'Seeing they may not see, And hearing they may not understand.' (Luke 10:20-21 NKJV) "Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven." {21} In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. (John 6:37-40 NKJV) "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. {38} "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. {39} "This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. {40} "And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day." (John 6:44-45 NKJV) "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. {45} "It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught by God.' Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me. (John 15:16 NKJV) "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. (John 15:19 NKJV) "If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. (John 17:9 NKJV) "I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. (Acts 2:38-39 NKJV) Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. {39} "For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call." (Acts 13:48 NKJV) Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed. (Acts 17:24-28 NKJV) "God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. {25} "Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. {26} "And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, {27} "so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; {28} "for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.' (Romans 8:26-39 NKJV) Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. {27} Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. {28} And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. {29} For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. {30} Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. {31} What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? {32} He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? {33} Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. {34} Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. {35} Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? {36} As it is written: "For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." {37} Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. {38} For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, {39} nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 9:13-26 NKJV) As it is written, "Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated." {14} What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Certainly not! {15} For He says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion." {16} So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy. {17} For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth." {18} Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens. {19} You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?" {20} But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, "Why have you made me like this?" {21} Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor? {22} What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, {23} and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, {24} even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? {25} As He says also in Hosea: "I will call them My people, who were not My people, And her beloved, who was not beloved." {26} "And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them, 'You are not My people,' There they shall be called sons of the living God." (Romans 11:5-6 NKJV) Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. {6} And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work. (Romans 11:29-36 NKJV) For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. {30} For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, {31} even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy. {32} For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all. {33} Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! {34} "For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?" {35} "Or who has first given to Him And it shall be repaid to him?" {36} For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen. (1 Corinthians 1:26-31 NKJV) For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. {27} But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; {28} and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, {29} that no flesh should glory in His presence. {30} But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God; and righteousness and sanctification and redemption; {31} that, as it is written, "He who glories, let him glory in the LORD." (Ephesians 1:2-14 NKJV) Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. {3} Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, {4} just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, {5} having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, {6} to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved. {7} In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace {8} which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, {9} having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, {10} that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth; in Him. {11} In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, {12} that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. {13} In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the Gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, {14} who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. (Colossians 3:12-15 NKJV) Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; {13} bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. {14} But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. {15} And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. (James 1:17-18 NKJV) Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. {18} Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. (1 Peter 2:9-10 NKJV) But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; {10} who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. (Revelation 13:6-8 NKJV) Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. {7} It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. {8} All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
