1Samuel 17:

Definition of names: From the Hebrew name meaning of  David  "beloved". He was the second and greatest of the kings of Israel.
Noun
1.
Goliath - (Old Testament) a giant Philistine warrior who was slain by David with a slingshot

2.
goliath - someone or something that is abnormally large and powerful

a.            Urefu wa Goliath: about 9 feet 9 inches or about 3 meters
b.            Koti ya Goliath: about 125 pounds or about 58 kilograms
c.             Mkuki wa Goliath: about 15 pounds or about 6.9 kilograms
d.            Uzito wa chakula alicho kichuwa Daudi: probably about 36 pounds or about 16 kilograms
Goliath was 9 feet 3 inches tall or 2.82 meters and likely was a bit bigger! Compare this to the average height of a U.S. male
 (2003 to 2006 data) of 5 feet 10 inches (1.8 meters).
It is safe to say that Goliath wore a protective coat that weighed at least 78 U.S. pounds (35.4 kilograms).
NB: Several commentaries place the weight of the coat at an amazing 156 U.S. pounds (70.8 kilograms)!
·         The length of his spear may have been as long as 26 feet (7.9 meters).
·        The head alone on it weighed at least 17 pounds U.S. (7.7 kilograms).
·        He was a formidable opponent indeed! David had these heavy, super-sized weapons to transport!
Example: Kahemula Paul alikufisha watoto alikuwa alienda ku maombi, wezi wakamuingilia usiku waka tupia grenade mu nyumba, mke na watoto 7 wakafa.
There was a war in the land of Israel. King Saul and the Israelites were fighting the Philistines. One of the Philistines was a giant. His name was Goliath. He was very big and strong. The Israelites were afraid of him.

Goliath shouted to the Israelites. He told them to choose a man to fight him. No one wanted to fight the giant. Goliath shouted to them every morning and every night for forty days. None of the Israelites would fight him.

David’s brothers were in the Israelite army. Jesse sent David to take some food to them.

David saw the giant. He heard Goliath shouting. He saw that the men were afraid of Goliath

David said he would fight the giant. His brothers were angry. They said David should be taking care of the sheep.

David knew God would help him. He picked up five stones. He took his sling and went to fight Goliath.

Goliath saw that David was young. He was angry. He shouted at David and made fun of him. David shouted back. He said God would help him kill Goliath.

Goliath came at David to fight. Then David put a stone in his sling and threw the stone.

The stone hit Goliath in the head. Goliath fell to the ground.

David took Goliath’s sword and cut off his head.

The Philistines saw David kill Goliath. They were afraid and ran away. God had helped David kill the giant.
James 1:12 (NIV) Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the victor's crown, the life God has promised to those who love him.
Dhahabu inapimwa na moto
1 Peter 1:7
7 Pure gold put in the fire comes out of it proved pure; genuine faith put through this suffering comes out proved genuine. When Jesus wraps this all up, it's your faith, not your gold, that God will have on display as evidence of his victory.
Wale ambao hawata kubali kuanguka katika majaribu wata barikiwa. Imeandikwa,
Yakobo 1:12 "Heri mtu astahimiliye majaribu kwa sababu akisha kukubaliwa ataipokea taji ya uzima, Bwana aliyowahidia wampendao."
Jaribu haliogopi mtu
Yakobo 1:12 Amebarikiwa mtu ambaye anavumilia majaribu, kwa sababu akisha stahimili atapewa taji ya uzima ambayo Mungu amewaahidi wale wampendao.

Romans 14:13-23
Do Not Cause Another to Stumble
13 Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother. 14 I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself, but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean. 15 For if your brother is grieved by what you eat, you are no longer walking in love. By what you eat, do not destroy the one for whom Christ died.16 So do not let what you regard as good be spoken of as evil. 17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men. 19 So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.
20 Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for anyone to make another stumble by what he eats. 21 It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother to stumble.[a] 22 The faith that you have, keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who has no reason to pass judgment on himself for what he approves. 23 But whoever has doubts is condemned if he eats, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.[b]
Ukishinda majaribu lililo kuu, mengine madogo yatakuwa sio kitu tena na utavikwa taji ya uzima.

wafilisti walipo mwona Daudi anamwuwa Goliath wakaogopa na kukimbia na combat ikaisha

[ The Armor of God ] Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
