Definition: A church is a Christian Place of Worship. Christians go to church on Sundays, to pray, sing hymns and hear sermons and stuff. :
*The gospels and Acts of the Apostles say the Christian movement, and
thus the first church, started after the crucifixion of Jesus. Although
tradition says that was either 30 CE or 33 CE, there is no actual
evidence of the date, other than that the gospels say that it occurred
during the governorship of Pontius Pilate. Pilate was governor of Judea
from 26 to 36 CE.
-
church is sometimes miss used when talking about a
material building this is not "THE CHURCH" but merrily the place where
the Church meets. John 14:2 says in my Fathers HOUSE are many Mansions
meaning
-
dwelling places and the first place that we dwell
in, is in the body of Christ Jesus the second dwelling place will be in
Paradise then finally we will be called to be with God in Heaven our
final
-
resting place. (1)Matt 16:18- And I also say to
you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church and the
gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. (2)Matt 18:17- And if he
refuse
-
to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he
refuses even to hear the church; let him be to you like a heathen and a
tax collector.Answer:"Congregation"... "Group"... "Assembly"... "Cadre,"
etc.As
-
stated above, Jesus says: "... I will build My
church..." -- My Congregation."Cadre" is an excellent word to apply
here:CADRE: "A nucleus or core group especially of trained personnel
able to assume
-
control and train others; broadly, a group of
people having a unified relationship."The Spirit of Jesus Christ,
living, dwelling within the spirits [hearts and minds] of each of the
"personnel" of His
-
"church" is their unifying relationship.Jesus is
the "Builder." He is the "Foundation" of it... the "Rock" upon which
it's being constructed."Whosoever cometh to Me, and heareth My sayings,
and doth
-
them, I will shew you to whom he is like:"He is
like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and LAID THE
FOUNDATION ON A ROCK: and when the flood arose, the stream beat
vehemently upon that
-
house, and could not shake it: for it was FOUNDED
UPON A ROCK." (Luke 6:47-48)The Bible, is the "text book" for their
schooling and training. It contains the "Wisdom and Knowledge" of God
[through
-
faith] that's not otherwise discernible to the
natural carnal human mind and heart. It's Jesus Christ, the "Builder,"
the "Rock" and the "Light" who reveals to His cadre the understanding of
the Bible
